Astrology Forecast for February, 2012

 The Times They Are A’Changin’ by Bob Dylan says it all for this month:

Come gather round people (Sun and Mercury in Aquarius, the sign of community)

Wherever you roam (Moon’s Nodes in Gemini [S] and Sagittarius [N] free to expand)

And admit that the waters around you have grown (Neptune enters its home sign of Pisces)

And accept it that soon you’ll be drenched to the bone (Chiron, the wound, is also in Pisces)

If your time to you is worth saving (Pluto is in Capricorn squeezing our time right out of us)

Then you better start swimming (Venus in Pisces now, Sun and Mercury will join this month)

Or you’ll sink like a stone (Mars in Virgo all month opposite Pisces says “get going!”)

‘Cuz the times they are a changin’.            (Uranus in Aries squares Pluto in Capricorn all year!)

We will know 2012 as a year of the great transition - The great shift. And what is this shift about? What does it look like? What is it for? Well, by the end of this month we will all be far more clear as to the answers to these questions. New information and the revealing of hidden agendas will deepen our understanding of the forces working to create our current situation thereby giving us insight into what needs to be changed. The roots of change that are to occur this year have their roots in the far distant past, the more recent past (the mid 60’s Uranus Pluto conjunction), and just last year.

Let us liken this change of ages, Pisces to Aquarius, as a large remodeling project. We have a huge, palatial residence that we desire to completely update. This palace can represent your personal body, your emotional body, your family, house, neighborhood, country, or planet earth. So, it’s getting outdated, there are many new improvements that weren’t available years ago and we, as a collective of individuals, have decided it is time to modernize. The architects have been busy behind the scenes, the energy has been invested to draw up new plans, new innovations that incorporate new ideas.

In particular, there is a connection between the ideas, plans or notions conceived last April – May when Jupiter and Uranus initially passed where they will again this month. At that time, you may have had a dream, a breakup, or a breakthrough. You knew it was time to begin something new in your life, to restructure it in some way. You may have left a job, started a job, left a relationship, started a relationship, felt the need for something “more” in your life, or been pushed into something “more” that caught you by surprise.

As 2011 rolled on, Jupiter and Uranus, the planets of innovation, renovation, and change, went back over those same degrees from September to November. The plans were finished, some changes needed to begin. It was time to empty out the old palace, the old house, the old life, and get rid of what was no longer feeding you, your future, or your planet. Take down the old decorations, remove the old furniture and carpets, basically strip “the place” down to the bare necessities.

Now some of us will have felt the urge to change and some of us will have feared the need to change. These different approaches to the past and to the coming future will produce different results. LIFE, the intelligent, unconscious spirit that both resides within us and connects us to all that is without us, continues our evolution with or without our conscious ego approval. Some left their job, partnership, community, or country, while others, the latter, were let go from their jobs, left by their partner, had to relocate etc. One way or the other, there needed to be the removal of that which was no longer serving the pure, ultimate, manifestation of your potential.

Now, in the month of February the stage has been cleared, the old swept away, and the new life, new model, new possibility is beginning to emerge. Jupiter and Uranus are passing for the third and final pass which in one way says: “Times up! You had your chance to jump and run, the whistle blew, the window is closing.” This is the month to walk your talk, put your money where your mouth is, really DO what you have wanted, wished, or been pushed toward (by your own unconscious). It can be exhilarating, exhausting, or terrifying, but there is little chance of boredom!

As the Sun moves through Aquarius into Pisces and joins with Neptune, Pisces’ ruler, who is coming home after a 165 year sojourn through the starry realms, we will all see the stakes being raised. We are getting stretched; Life is asking each of us, with a voice louder and louder everyday: MAKE THE CHANGE! The change starts with yourself, waking up to yourself and stopping the monkey mind (ego) from sleepily asking “huh? What are you talking about? What’s going on?” It’s time we stop fooling ourselves and pulling the blankets over our heads for fear of getting out of bed. You KNOW what you want on a gut level so get in touch with it. This month the alarms will begin to go off and we can only hit snooze so many times.

Our lives, our relationships, our leaders, our environment, our energy, our food, our water, everything is being messed with, messed up. It’s time to wake up and take responsibility for creating the change, facing the “invisible hands” that are repressing the natural unfoldment of our unlimited creativity. The coffers are getting pillaged and we best listen to the alarms, the wake up calls, before they are completely empty. While we still have freedom to act, speak, travel, and communicate we best gather ourselves together and begin this long overdue remodel of the 21^st century planet earth.

We are being called to be the creators, not the victims or the observers of a NEW WORLD. It may be uncomfortable, it will require work (Mars retrograde in Virgo all month), but the potential of a free world with unlimited energy, financial institutions and laws that support the people rather than limit their freedom and control them through fear, and a beautiful, clean, abundant, planet for future generations to thrive upon are all within our grasp.

This month of February will ask that we begin the remodel. Finish removing the old guard, clear the decks, and pull out the plans that outline a new future for ourselves and our children. No longer is it just about “me and my own” but about banding together, standing together, and working together to create a safe space, much bigger and brighter than any of us could build alone. Life may be giving you more time, in one way or another, and ultimately, what you do with this time will determine the success or failure of the remodel. It really is up to us this time. May your earthy palace reflect the true magnificence of your soul’s cosmic mansion. ,

Powerful days of change this month will be 1, 3, 7, 9, 13, 15, 18, 19, 21, and 23

Extended Forecast for Dec, 2011 to Feb, 2012

In order to clearly understand where we are in this present moment, and in the few short months to come, it is helpful to look at the broader context of events/phenomena within which these moments are occurring. The ship sailing the sea looks back to when it left port, how long the voyage is, the weather, currents, and in times gone by the stars themselves, to determine the proper course. As a species, we too have set out on a voyage that began eons ago, before any of us were born, and the evolution of our collective consciousness is occurring within vast cycles of time.

We are all familiar with the change occurring from the old age of Pisces now shifting to Aquarius. Within that shift (taking from 1900-2100) we are now dealing with a square from the planet Uranus to Pluto that began in March, 2011 and will continue through January of 2015. This is a tension producing aspect that reflects the collapse of old forms of security, which make way for the emergence of a new sense of liberation and self-empowerment leading to new creations. We have all been feeling the tremors within the foundations of government, banking, commerce, and religion begin to shake, heralding their future demise.

This demise will be occurring in fits and stops for a few more years to come as individuals, and new communities are birthed that offer key new solutions, options, and models for a future global society. The future potential of human creativity and genius is not being served by the current societal and educational systems as the very essence of how we think/intuit and create is changing. The future holds innumerable diverse potential paths of self-expression and a free society that supports this new age of innovation, diversity, and liberation is being birthed.

Within that broad cycle is the Chiron/Neptune conjunction that has been occurring from March 2009, and will continue through March of 2012. Along with that we must include the north node of the Moon having entered the sign of Sagittarius in March of 2011 to remain there until September of 2012. Lastly, just to finish up the astrological indications that form the basis of this forecast, is Mars moving through the sign of Virgo all through the months of Dec-Feb.

When we take these aspects into account and use the archetypal images to explain the symbolism we see these months as bringing more of the dissolution of the old and birthing of the new. The downward global economic trend will continue to create situations (crisis) where it becomes more and more obvious that changes need to be made, not superficial cosmetic changes, but a fundamental restructuring of the way we govern our societies, financial and religious institutions, children, and finally ourselves. The pace of change will continue to increase and sudden, surprising, catastrophic events both natural and man-made will show the defects of the current system clearly and blatantly.

Within our own personal lives, the economic climate, as well as other unseen spiritual realities, is putting each of us in a pressure cooker. We can no longer trust those we thought trustworthy, can no longer believe those we were told knew the answers, and will be presented more and more frequently with the question of “Do I stay with this sinking ship or is now the time to take the leap?” It is a time that brings up deep questions of what is truly important, secure, necessary, and true. The challenging part is that the answers are no longer given and are no longer true for everyone, but need to be wrestled with individually leading to more and more diverse forms of self-expression on our planet. While it may not appear so, we are actually freer now than we have ever been before to create lives of our own design. Lacking in the creative art department? It is time to gamble, risk, chance, and practice, practice, practice at redesigning your Self and your life.

We have a total lunar eclipse squaring Mars occurring on the 10^th of December as the earth passes between the Sun in the sign of Sagittarius and the Moon in the sign of Gemini.   This will be a time (which will continue to increase in the coming years) when you can’t trust or believe what you are told but need to figure out new solutions to your problems independently of the old authorities you used to run to for guidance and wisdom. And this is not bad! Get with it! If you are on a team, in a relationship, or independently researching new answers to both old and new dilemmas, then this is your time to shine! We all need to become efficiency experts, remodelers, negotiators, mediators, engineers and scientists that reach out into the unknown and bring back ingenious, previously unheard of, ways of dealing with our problems.

The atmosphere of brainstorming, expanding our understanding of life, business, society, love, sex, and money in December will shift toward the end of the month to a practical, nuts and bolts, “we better tighten down the hatches” attitude that will last all through January. The best advice for these months is “Don’t do what you’ve always done or were told to do.” It may involve trimming the budget farther down than you ever thought you could. It may involve trusting your new idea or your new spouse or your new business partner more than you ever trusted them before. It may involve risking what you have held onto your whole life, be it a hope, dream, belief, person, business, outlook, or family in order to meet the path that life is now showing you. Mostly, it will be daring to dream again as old dreams based on childhood conditioning, movies, or societal norms fail to fulfill the expectations or come true.

For now more than ever, life is talking to us. Synchronicity is becoming serendipitiously more common! In astrology, there are no “accidents”, and this is becoming more apparent in more people’s daily lives (like yours if you’re paying attention). Through the internet, the weather, the stock market, the viruses and diseases, we are not only getting nudged these days, we’re getting whacked by life: “Do THIS! Go THERE! That’s a DEAD END!” It is in your dreams as well as your waking life, and if you are paying attention to these “signs of the times” (often coming through your significant other(s) as well) life is giving you guidance loud and clear. The thing is that it may not be what you want to hear so you try to go on believing that it will change or go back to the way things used to be but it won’t. It is time for us all to take our heads out of the sand and these months will give us ample opportunity (or should I say kick in the butt) to do so.

Once making it through the retrograde phases and the Jupiter/Saturn opposition, happening really from Christmas through the end of January, it’s going to get real crazy (and that can be in a good sense). Let’s say that some of the weight (as in heavy decisions) gets lifted, the party poppers come out and it is time to release the pressure, the stress, the anxiety and move toward relaxing, healing, and restoring ourselves and our lives. February holds a lot of undetermined, chaotic potential that will be experienced by many as just plain simple old magic (yes it still exists!). Call it grace or mercy or whatever you will, but there are forces in the universe that still smile down on us now and then and after the storm we can appreciate even more fully the beautiful rainbow. So take the bull by the horns, do the dirty work of creation, and celebrate the amazing life that YOU, no one but YOU, could possibly have imagined or carved out, but YOU are now IT!
